Michael Di Silvio opened the meeting at 7:30pm by greeting all attendees and introducing our guests. The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Barbara De Leon.
Mr. Ragon reviewed the results of the PRIDE survey. A brief discussion followed. Mr. Ragon informed us that on 1/11/05 will have an evening presentation at Seaford High School of the PRIDE survey for
parents. It will be conducted in a panel forum.
Barbara Richko and Andrea Goldstein spoke about the upcoming Friday Night Live. Among the activities on the schedule was basketball, bingo, and pumpkin painting. A discussion of where to buy a large
quantity of pumpkins at a low price followed.
Mike Di Silvio spoke about the Hot Chocolate Run, set for 12/4/04. He showed us several designs for the tee-shirts. The plans seemed to be progressing smoothly.
Ms. Jaimie Byers of the American Cancer Society spoke about Relay For Life, a program that serves as a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society as well as raising awareness, honoring cancer survivors and
serves as a memorial to loved ones lost to cancer. Ms. Byers provided a video of Wantagh High School's participation in the project. Due to technical difficulties, it could not be viewed this evening.
Christine Kern discussed a Seaford Beautification Project and asked for suggestions. A discussion followed with ideas of which issues to tackle first.
Michael Di Silvio closed the meeting at 8:55pm.

The meeting was opened by Michael Di Silvio with a greeting and a discussion concerning the cell tower that was erected on the Southwest exit ramp of route 135 (Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway).
The minutes of the last meeting was recapped by Michael Di Silvio and Barbara De Leon.
The PRIDE Survey: While no one as of yet knows the results of the survey, we will be informed after the BOE becomes aware of the results. A forum will be presented to the community on 01/11/05. The
community needs to be encouraged to attend. The Wellness Council will be at the meeting.
Friday Night Live: The last one was well attended by 200 students. (Mostly 6th and 7th graders with some 8th graders.) This Friday, Nov. 19th, will be the last FNL until March. This FNL will include volleyball,
basketball and remote-control car racing. We thank all the teacher and parent volunteers who support this popular event.
Open House: a call went out for volunteers to be at the Middle School and High School Open House to represent the Wellness Council.

Council members are also asked to Saturday morning at 7:30AM the HS Auditorium. Council members are needed to help with the distribution. Council members are also asked to serve bagels and hot
chocolate on Saturday morning. Sponsors will be acknowledged with poster board signs or, in the case of tee-shirt sponsors, with their name running down the sleeve of the shirt. There will be one sponsor per
shirt. Joanne Bellissimo will investigate decorations and balloons for the event.
Sharon Jonas will investigate student volunteer to create sponsor signs.

Finances: The books were closed out for the previous year (ended June 04) and we received a check for $7,500.00 to close out the year. We are thankful to Sen. Fuschillo who has approved a new $10,000.00
grant for future Wellness Council activities.
Red Ribbon Week: (Anti Drug Program) The Wellness Council contributed to the events for the Middle School. It was suggested that the Wellness Council also participate with the Manor & Harbor Elementary
Schools, as they also have Red Ribbon Week events of their own.
Seaford Beautification: Christine Kern would like to start a sub-committee with the help of local organizations.

The meeting opened at 7:35pm in the Seaford Middle School library by Ken Nersesian. Introductions, why we joined the Wellness Council and brainstorming ideas were offered by all attendees. Mr. Ragon
was not available to give us a Pride Survey update. The results will be revealed at the district assembly on Jan. 11, 2005 at the Seaford HS Auditorium. The Seaford Wellness Council will be present. Ken
stated that we might have a meeting prior to that meeting.
Friday Night Live - Barbara Richko/Andrea Goldstein were not available to report, but Ken said that they are doing a fantastic job. He feels that FNL should become a subcommittee and only report to us when
needed.
Open House - Ken said that he and Mike Di Silvio were at the open houses at both the Middle School and at the High School. The response from the parents of the Middle School was more favorable than
that of the High School parents. Ken felt that where they were stationed in the High School was a detriment to them. Next year he will request a different station located at the entrance.
Firehouse Christmas Tree Lighting which was later cover the entire cost of the race. It was also suggested that instead of water bottles, that small cups of water be placed on tables for the cover the entire

Ken strongly suggested that Liz Gaebler give a monthly treasurer's report and that all checks drawn should have 2 signatures. A discussion followed. Ken will review the bylaws.
Cell Tower - Congressman Peter King wrote a letter to Governor George Pataki to take down the cell tower.
Beautification Committee - Christine Kern wants to coordinate a meeting with all the different civil/service groups/organizations in Seaford to get them involved with her project.
Ken wants to get involved in fund raising efforts within the next few meetings for the spring.
